Learning From Scratch
I found out that hair and make up in Manila costs 3x as much as it does here in Bacolod. I didn’t want to shell out that much for, at most, a 5-hour event. So I got myself a whole bunch of makeup—from foundation to mascara. And now I know how to do it myself. I even sort-of made up my close friend Marisa… ;) I’m not that good, but at least it’s good enough. And though I may have spent more than what I would’ve if I just went to the salon, at least I have my stash to reuse whenever the need arises.
I now know 3 things that I learned on my own (and I’m proud of it): Photoshop (well, partially ‘cause it started out with someone teaching me over mIRC… yes, really!), cooking, makeup.
